TOP 100 Award: Ranga Yogeshwar honours blackned for innovative achievements
Überlingen – Recognition at the German SME Summit: Ranga Yogeshwar congratulates blackned GmbH from Heimertingen on being awarded the TOP 100 seal. The award ceremony at the Summit will take place on Friday 28 June in Weimar for all SMEs that received the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year. The science journalist is mentoring the innovation competition, which is being held for the 31st time. In the scientific selection process, blackned was particularly convincing in size category B (51 to 200 employees) in the “Innovation success” category. The company is one of the top innovators for the second time.
The TOP 100 company portrait published on the occasion of the award states (excerpt):
In crisis and war zones, networking is essential for survival. However, armies in Germany and the NATO area are not optimally equipped digitally. For this reason, the IT company blackned has developed innovative high-tech software that networks players more efficiently. “Many still use field radios, with which communication is often sluggish, error-prone and complicated. Comprehensive communication networks are largely lacking,” says (former) CEO Timo Haas about the Western armed forces. “We have developed software that opens up important digital possibilities for this,” he emphasises. TACTICAL CORE is the name of the corresponding 5G-based communication architecture. With the comprehensive, fast mobile network, players can communicate data efficiently and securely. The software functions similarly to an app store and can integrate the latest technologies: for example, an app that compares military scenarios with very large data sets and optimises decisions. “This digital approach could revolutionise defence,” explains Haas.
